With almost 30 years experience in efficacy testing, our highly trained staff and expert consultant network can assist to all your needs from initial concept testing and screening to complete dossier/submission registration and marketing data, both in the Plant Protection areas and the Biocides/Professional Products, for the EU, USA and worldwide markets.

We have particular expertise in assisting agrochemical, animal health and household consumer product companies, mainly from Asia and Australia (Japan, South Korea, China, India and Australia) enter the European and US markets.

We are: ORETO (Official Recognition of Efficacy Testing Facilities or Organisations in the UK) certificated for GEP (Good Experimental Practice) studies for Plant Protection Product registration and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) certified for efficacy and ecotoxicology studies.

    The company was established in 1989 in Bristol University, UK, by Professor Peter Langley, originally as a tse-tse fly research laboratory. When he moved to Cardiff University in Wales, UK, he brought the company with him, at this point fully owned by Cardiff University.

  • 1992

    In 1992, the company became incorporated as a limited company in Cardiff.

  • 2000

    In 2000, some of the then Directors took the company out of the University in a spin out, reducing the university shareholding to 11%.

  • 2001

    In 2001, the company moved to its current headquarter facilities in Cardiff, Wales, UK.

  • 2005

    In 2005, the branch office in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK, is opened, to serve as the main facility for the crop and turf business.

  • 2007

    In 2007, the branch office in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, is launched, primarily offering ant and bed bug field studies.

  • 2010

    In 2010, the branch office in Girona, Spain, is opened, to offer cockroach and ant field testing in Southern Europe.

  • 2012

    In 2012, with the acquisition of ICR, Inc. (established in 1946), in Baltimore, USA, the first US office was launched, as the main laboratory facility in the USA and the base of the regulatory network

  • 2013

    In 2013, our European regulatory capability is launched through our consultant network.

  • 2014

    In 2014, the Florida, USA, satellite field station is opened.

  • 2015

    In 2015, our worldwide network broadens with collaborators in Europe, USA, China, Australia and Brazil.
